Offered through a Chicago-based, teacher-led nonprofit, Living Library workshops are individualized professional development coaching sessions that help teachers identify areas of strengths and weaknesses in the Framework and become more intentional with their practice. Workshops are organized during school day or off hours and held via phone and Internet.

The student and retired programs of the Illinois Education Association have been integral in the development of Library technologies and training programs since 2001. The National Education Association's retired program provided generous funding to help launch the Library in 2005.
